Education, governance and regional development
correlation, principles and concepts
Abstract
This study addresses the critical interconnection between Education, Governance and Regional Development, highlighting the correlation between educational quality and government practices at a regional level. We explore the fundamental principles and concepts that shape this relationship, aiming to contribute to more effective policies and sustainable regional development. The methodology used involved a comprehensive literature review to support our conclusions. This work is presented at the III Regional Seminar on Education and Regional Development, seeking to stimulate discussions and proposals to improve the educational and governmental panorama, thus strengthening the foundations for equitable regional progress. As a result of the research, it was clear to conclude that regional development is based on quality education. Every quality educational practice that imports knowledge to strengthen the bases is the result of a combined effort by political and governmental actors, civil society and local communities. This practice suppresses the increase in the number of literate people, creating capacities for acceptance and inclusion in the regional development process.
Keywords: Educational policies; quality education; governance; regional development.
