Art criticism: practice social

The main objective of this article is to analyze art criticism and culture as social activities and practices, in order to understand how art criticism is configured as an aesthetic judgment and a set of practices that involve ethical, political and social issues. This is a bibliographical review based on research, current studies and theorists from the fields of Education, Psychology, Social Sciences and Popular Culture. As discussed, art criticism has been an area of study that has evolved significantly over the centuries, adapting to cultural, social and technological changes, so that its main theories and approaches have shaped art criticism over the centuries based on its main theorists and their respective contributions to the field. Thus, it was concluded from the theoretical reflections that art criticism can influence public perceptions and contribute to social transformation also from the interaction between culture and society, understanding the importance of cultural practices in the formation of individual and collective identity and in promoting social cohesion.
